AIMPRO Meeting 2010 — "Modelling of Nanostructures and Interfaces".

We are pleased to announce the upcoming 2010 AIMPRO Users Meeting, to be held in the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham, April 19–22, 2010.

Double-walled carbon nanotube

The Computational Nanoscience Group at Nottingham, headed by Dr. Elena Bichoutskaia, is a home to theoretical and computational scientists who are interested in nanoscale phenomena. We work on the development of modelling approaches to a wide range of problems in condensed matter and materials science. Focus of our current research is on the behaviour, properties and manipulation of carbon nanomaterials and low dimensional systems, and their applications in information technology and nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS).

We are part of Nottingham's Physical and Theoretical Division.

We also closely interact with the Nottingham Nanoscience Group
and the Nottingham Nanotechnology and Nanoscience Centre.

We encourage applications from students wishing to study for a PhD degree. If you are interested in nanoscience, motivated and have a strong background in chemistry, physics and/or maths, we hope to hear from you.
